Style Review: Monica?!

Hola SMD!

So, a couple of nights ago was the 10th Annual BET (Black Entertainment Television) Awards show. They celebrated 10 years of being on air, which for some reason, in my mind, seemed like it had been on way longer...lol...I don't know why...

I honestly can't say that I've actually sat there and watched every show made over the past ten years, but I thought that this one was jammed packed with all kinds of craziness!

I mean we had Chris Brown dancing in his MJ tribute (I mean can we say

W-O-W!..it's like Michael's spirit was inside of him)...crying...singing...then crying some more...apologetic to his fans for his ultimate screw up. Was it me or do you think that the "Best Fans" award that Chris Brown received was rigged so he could win and make a plea for people to forgive him finally?

Then, we had Alicia Keys all prego on top of the piano singing. I don't know about you but the only thing I could think about was the gigantic elephant in the room. You know?!,the fact that she is an alleged home wrecker! on stage! pregnant! by another woman's husband! SMH...

And, OMG! Rocsi and Terrance kissed (I just KNOW they're really dating). Then, there was so much smoke from Ditty-Dirty Money's performance that it tried to distract us from the fact that Diddy is the only performer that CAN'T sing, dance, or rap...but (I have to admit) can put on a heck of show! Oh! and the diva,Patti LaBelle,kicked off her shoes while giving a tribute performance to Prince...LOL...

Ahhh the list of rachettness (i.e. classless behavior) goes on and on. But, overall I enjoyed the show!

Ok..so you know in leu of their 10th anniversary I HAD to talk to you guys about the fashions being worn...some of them hot....others....ummm I don't think so!

The main look that stood out to me was Monica. What did ya'll think of Monica's look? This one stood out to me because personally...I wasn't feeling it. I understand what she was TRYING to go for but, it failed! I mean I'm usually all for the avant garde looks...I'm all about pushing the conventional boundaries, but this was just ridiculous.The sleeves were just too high. It distracted from her singing and she looked so uncomfortable to me. Maybe it's because I see her with a more urban chic' street style, this image she's trying to portray just doesn't fit her to me.

But, all in all I love her and she gave an A-mazing performance!
(yep...Batman wings and all...lol)

SMD Style Profile: Lady Gaga

Hey SMD!

So, I decided to try something new! I'm creating new posts where I will be profiling different personal style's that I admire or find interesting...with that being said who not better to start off this new installation of "SMD Style Profile" than with none other: Lady Gaga!

I don't know about my readers out there but I absolutely love her! I know, I know, a lot of people feel like she's outrageous and weird, but I just think that she's just misunderstood! She's creative and pushes the boundaries of traditional style's of dress. You may hate her style but you have to admit you can't help but notice her! You can't go to any website or fashion blog with out stories of her style selections being profiled.

She uses her clothing selections to supplement her music which in turn has propelled her into becoming one of the biggest Pop stars of this time, and I'm definitely feeling her vibe...I don't know about you but I'm Goo-Goo for GAGA!!

An interesting thing about Gaga's creations is that most of them are made by her very own design team, House of Gaga **oooh what I would do to work for them! ;-) She also has worked with some of the most amazing designers to come up with her avant-garde creations like the late GREAT Alexander McQueen.
